The YATO heat shrink solder sleeves YT-81454 are designed for creating permanent and waterproof connections of electrical cables. This set includes transparent heat shrink tubing with a tin center ring and thermal glue rings on either side to ensure a secure seal.
PE vs PVC and other differences:
The YATO brand heat shrink solder sleeves are made from polyethylene (PE) and contain an adequate amount of solder binder along with hot glue rings. The benefits of PE sleeves over PVC are significant:
These PE tubes are suitable for both domestic applications and environments where extreme weather conditions (like sub-zero temperatures) or heated areas (such as near a vehicle engine) are present.
The well-measured amount of solder binder in YATO's tin shrink sleeves ensures a proper solder joint; the tin flows between the wires, creating a strong, reliable connection. In contrast, cheaper alternatives may use insufficient tin, leading to weak connections, especially for larger cross-sections.
Another important aspect is the use of a sealing adhesive. YATO employs a specially formulated, proven hot glue that retains a degree of elasticity once set and does not degrade over time. Some inexpensive products utilize EVA plastic that, while sealing the joint initially, tends to crumble and deteriorate when exposed to environmental factors over time.
