Coconut activated carbon is specially selected and subjected to thermal treatment with steam of coconut shells, which allows you to neutralize and harmonize the taste and smell of distillates. Due to its iodine number (>900 mg/g) and granulation (0.55 - 2.4 mm), this carbon has a large pore volume and, consequently, a high capacity for adsorbing impurities affecting the color, taste, and smell of liquids. Tests show that using coconut activated carbon yields much better results than the same process with coal. Filtration in the column occurs seamlessly, the distillate flows evenly, filling the entire medium, and the resulting distillate has a normalized mild aroma and delicate taste free from yeast smell. One 1 kg package allows for the filtration of up to 60 L of liquid. The product has a low ash content (<3%), ensuring no "leaching" during filtration, thus preventing contamination and negative impact on the taste of fluids. Due to its versatile application, carbon can also be used outside of distillation - in gardening, as a filtering layer in pots, and during the creation of terrariums.</p>

Directions for use:

Place the carbon on a sieve, rinse it with hot water from a kettle, then place the carbon on the sieve under running tap water (approx. 20°C) and wash the carbon for about 3 minutes, turning it on the sieve until the water running through is clear. Then leave the carbon to drain excess water. After this time, the carbon is ready for use. The principle of using activated carbon is similar to that employed in standard water filters. The flow time for 1 L of fluid through the medium should be at least 1 hour (the effectiveness of adsorption of unwanted substances depends on the contact time of the fluid with the absorbent). Alternatively, activated carbon can be placed in a nylon mesh and put directly into the container with the fluid being purified for not less than 6 hours, stirring regularly. The effectiveness of the carbon also depends on the fluid temperature. Elevated temperature does not favor adsorption - the optimal temperature for the absorption process is 10°C.
