This activated mineral coal carbon is formulated to harmonize the flavor and aroma of potable water and liquor. Compared to activated coconut carbon, it is more effective at absorbing unwanted substances while retaining some minerality, allowing for flavor and aroma adjustments. Unlike birch charcoal, coal carbon does not preserve the characteristic flavors of distillates.

The primary parameters for assessing activated carbon's usefulness are grain size and adsorptive activity, which indicate absorption capabilities. A higher adsorption capability correlates with larger pore volume, enhancing contamination absorption from liquids, including colorants, substances affecting flavor and aroma, total organic compounds, and chlorine compounds.

How to Use:

Before using the activated carbon, soak it in distilled water for 24 hours to remove air bubbles. The use principle is similar to standard water filters. Allow at least 60 minutes for 1 liter of liquid to pass through the activated carbon bed (absorption effectiveness depends on the contact duration with the absorbent material). Alternatively, place the activated carbon in a nylon bag and immerse it in the liquid for no less than 6 hours, stirring regularly.

Recommendations: For optimal results, cool the liquid to approximately 10 °C or dilute to about 50%.
