The YATO AC Voltage Detector with LCD Screen (model YT-28320) is a non-contact tool designed for detecting the presence of voltage in insulated wires and within close proximity. Voltage detection is signaled through a red LED, an audible beep, and a clear indication on the LCD display.
This tester operates using the principle of electromagnetic induction. The closer it gets to a voltage source, the frequency of the indication increases. When powered on, the device begins in low-sensitivity mode, where the indication frequency rises upon touching the wire. In high sensitivity mode, the indication frequency increases at about 1 cm away from the wire. It also features the ability to detect breaks in live electrical cables without contact, signaling the absence of voltage at the point of the break.
